Here we go again…
About two weeks ago, Mark heard of an open position in his company at their location in Dallas, TX that was similar to what he is doing now. As he has wanted to move to Texas ever since we took our first trip there soon after we got married, cost of living is better, and since his whole department may get moved to Delaware or offshored to India sometime this year, he looked into it. Fast forward to yesterday… they hired him and we’re moving in a month. [Gulp]
Moving to Dallas is like moving home for me, in a lot of ways. I went to high school just south of Dallas and went to college just north of Dallas, and I have a couple of friends I’m still in touch with who still live there, one of whom is my best friend. So… if I have to move anywhere, I guess Dallas is the place I’d want to be- it’s a really good place to live. We sure hate that it’s SO FAR away from my family though. That’s nothing to dwell on though, as I want to always follow Paul’s example from Phillipians 4:11, “…I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”
The last time we drove to Texas was when my grandmother died 3 years ago, and I was about this far along in my pregnancy with Jack. We didn’t realize that I needed to be getting out and walking around more often, and my legs swelled up to ridiculous proportions. Funny that we’re repeating the trip while pregnant again. We’ve already got a house-hunting trip booked for Mark and the moving truck reserved, so we made good progress on things last night. We’re loading up the evening of Tuesday, March 25th and hope to move into our new place in Dallas on that Friday.
So, say a prayer for us, especially as Mark looks for a place for us in a couple of weeks. We really need to get into a house if at all possible. Boys need a place to run around, as I have learned, and with another one on the way, we’re praying we’ll have a yard. I’m just hoping I can get through this next month without my pregnancy hormones running wild and making me cry at the merest mention of leaving those I love here…. shoot, there I go again… where is the box of tissues?!

Finding this site is well-timed, as I needed a refresher course before baby #2 arrives this summer. Here are some examples of their baby care tips:

It’s a boy!
We had the ultrasound today and everything looks perfect. Very easy to tell that he is a boy. They had 4D ultrasound capabilities, so we got a couple of pictures that look a little creepy, but nice to be able to see his face. So… any name suggestions? Mark is VERY picky when it comes to boy names.

Jack @ 31 Months
Another month has flown by, and Jack continues to entertain, challenge and amaze us. While he still is very strong willed and throws a tantrum now and then, he finally understands the concept of needing to be in his room until he calms down. I can put him in his room when he loses his cool, and most of the time, he will stay in there a while screaming out his frustration, and then get over it and come out and say “I calmed down Mommy.”
He is very visual, and his memory of things he has seen in the past sort of amazes me. He was looking at Mark’s mother’s cross necklace yesterday, and said “that’s at the church!” We’ve never pointed out the cross before, but he remembered where he had seen it. My mother bought me a white blouse while we were in Texas, and while we were there I tried it on briefly and told Jack I was going to show Mommaw that it fit. I had it on for maybe 2 minutes and took it off again. This morning I pulled it out of the closet for the first time since we got back almost 3 weeks ago, and Jack pointed to it and said “you going to show Mommaw it fits?”
I keep trying to get Jack to sing some songs, but he just doesn’t want to much. Lately, he’ll sing the alphabet song with me, but for some reason he feels he must put his hands over his eyes when he sings. It’s like he’s shy about singing or something.
Daddy finally got to buy Jack some boots yesterday- they’re cute on him:
He rewarded Daddy by asking him in a nice loud voice this morning in the church foyer after Mark came out of the bathroom, “did you go peeepeeeee Daddy?”

Mom says I have to put something on my blog… heheh. I’m too busy to keep this one updated very well. I’ve been blessed with lots of business and just sorta keeping my head above water. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures:
Jack fell asleep sitting up while he was sick last week:

Mom took this picture while they were out walking in Texas on one of the few nice days we had. (Of course, Laura went last week and they had 70 degree weather the whole time.) Note the green in the grass behind him, even in January!
